How to send marketing email from ChatGPT

To send marketing email from ChatGPT, add an email marketing MCP server such as Tellnod under Plugins → Add custom MCP server, then mention it with @ in a chat to draft, preview and test the campaign, and approve the send on the confirmation card.

Steps

  1. Add Tellnod as a custom MCP server

    In ChatGPT, open Plugins, select +, then Add custom MCP server. Name it Tellnod and paste the connector address from the connect page under Connection S1.

  2. Create it as a plugin and sign in

    Confirm the sign-in settings, select Create as a plugin, then sign in with Google when asked.

  3. Start a chat with @Tellnod

    Type @ and choose Tellnod, then set up your brand from your website and import your contacts.

  4. Draft and preview

    Describe the campaign and the audience. Review the preview on desktop and mobile and ask for changes in plain words.

  5. Test, then approve

    Send yourself a test. ChatGPT prepares the send; you approve it on the confirmation card. If the chat cannot show cards, Tellnod gives you a link to a confirmation page on tellnod.com instead.

What you need

  • A ChatGPT plan and workspace that allow custom MCP servers. Account and workspace policies apply S1.
  • A domain you can add DNS records to, for SPF, DKIM and DMARC.
  • Contacts who opted in to your emails.

Adding the MCP server, step by step

  1. Open ChatGPT and go to Plugins.
  2. Select +, then Add custom MCP server.
  3. Name it Tellnod and paste the connector address under Connection.
  4. Confirm the sign-in settings, then select Create as a plugin.
  5. Start a new chat, type @ and choose Tellnod.

Why the last step is yours

Marketing email cannot be unsent. Tellnod splits sending into two steps: the assistant can prepare a send, which freezes the audience and shows the card, but the confirm step is only reachable from the card's button or the web confirmation page.
